Emma Braun, born in Vienna, lives and works between Athens and Vienna. Her practice as a filmmaker encompasses directing, cinematography, and editing, and is informed by an academic background in Fine Arts, at the academy of fine arts Vienna and the Villa Arson Nice.

Her short film debut, EINBLICK / Insight (2022), has been screened at numerous international festivals, including IDFA, Diagonale, and the Beijing International Short Film Festival, and has received multiple awards.

Alongside developing her own film projects, she most recently worked in Acquisitions at Heretic, (Athens) where she was involved in the selection, evaluation and international positioning of films by emerging and established filmmakers as well as in the development of projects in early production stages. In parallel she works in Athens on feature film productions as a set photographer and within camera departments, as well as in curatorial jobs such as for the ENCOURAGE Event at the Berlinale 2026.
